Hi folks! Today we realized we made a mistake and made the deadline for the scholarship applications the week of spring break. In an effort to make sure everyone gets a fair shot, we are electing to push deadline to April 15th! We will be sending emails to guidance offices that we have on file to make them aware of the change. We hope everyone has a Happy Easter and a safe, fun spring break!

If you're anything like us, you looked at your phone, smart watch, computer screen or desk calender and said HOW?!?! How is it March 23 already?! It means only 18 calender days (13 school days) until scholarship applications are due! As a reminder, this scholarship is also opened to adults who are seeking continuing Ed or skilled trades classes. If you are in need of a scholarship please email us at [email protected]! All applications must be submitted by midnight April 9th, via email! Please share!

Hi folks! It's that time of year again, applications will be mailed to schools and BOCES Tech centers tomorrow! Just like last year, we are looking for high school seniors or adults seeking higher education in a skilled trades or nursing discipline, to recieve one of two $1000 dollar scholarships! Last year was our best year yet for participation, and were hoping to top it this year! To further expand on the BIG NEWS portion of our welcome post, the scholarship committee has decided to open our scholarship up to adults as well! Do you find yourself wanting more out of your skilled trades or nursing career? Are you required to complete continued education to get that raise, or even keep your current position? Perhaps you're just tired of your current daily grind and think that transitioning to a skilled trades job is just what you need to get out of the funk. Whatever your reason for needing or wanting to seek adult education, we may be able to give you a boost financially. As of this year, we will be providing two, $1,000 dollar scholarships to a high school graduate or adult, who is seeking education skilled trades or nursing! The criteria is as follows: Seeking training in a skilled trade, or nursing. Be an immediate relative of a firefighter or EMS provider. Be an active member of a Fire Department or Rescue Squad in St. Lawrence county, or other volunteer organization. If you feel someone you know fits the criteria, and are interested in receiving a copy of the application, please message the page or email us at [email protected], please state if you or the relevant party are an adult or high-school senior. Welcome everyone to the Erik "Hondo" Hondusky Memorial Scholarship official page! The scholarship was created in honor of our husband, father, grandfather, and brother firefighter EMT and safety officer. We are honored each year to award two scholarships of $1000 to two students in St. Lawrence County, who are immediately family to fire fighters and EMT's who are seeking higher education in the skilled trades and nursing fields. In 2025, the committee has also decided to open the opportunity to adults who are seeking the same type of higher education, to further their career, or perhaps even starting over!
