Last Chance Community Pow Wow

Last Chance Community Pow Wow Last Chance Community Pow Wow is a non profit organization. The theme for our Pow Wow is “Honor The Children”.

Honor The Children
The theme of the pow wow is "Honor The Children". One of our missions is to help teach our youth the many traditions of Native American culture and to share this with their peers to create a better understanding between Native and non-Natives. Children are involved in all of our functions which included drumming, singing, dancing, regalia making, and fundraising. It is important

for them to participate in cultural activities so they stay in touch with their heritage and can share with others and pass the traditions on to their children.

Save the Dates — 27th Annual Last Chance Community Pow Wow
September 25–27, 2026

Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds • Exhibit Hall • Helena, Montana

Mark your calendars, relatives. Our circle gathers once again this fall as we celebrate 27 years of song, dance, healing, and community strength here in the heart of Montana.

Each year we come together to lift one another up, to remember where we come from, and to make a place for the generations rising behind us. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the circle.

More details coming soon — but for now, hold these dates and help spread the word.

All are welcome. All are invited. All are part of the circle.

2026 Greater Helena Gives — Support the Last Chance Community Pow Wow. May 6-7, 2026, 8pm-8pm.

Your gift strengthens one of Helena’s most important cultural gatherings. The Last Chance Community Pow Wow is more than a three‑day event; it is year‑round cultural education, youth leadership, and community healing. Donations help us bring singers and dancers into schools and care facilities, support scholarships for Native students, and keep our intertribal Pow Wow free and welcoming for all.

When you give, you help preserve living traditions, uplift Native families, and build a stronger, more connected Helena.

Please donate today and keep the drum strong for future generations.

An Elder dancing with our youth — the circle unbroken, the teachings moving in real time from one generation to the next.

This is how the good stuff is passed on:
not in speeches, not in theory, but in moments like this…
feet on the earth, songs in the air, young ones learning by watching, by doing, by being welcomed into the circle.

What a blessing to witness. What a blessing to share.

We’re Sold Out — What a Beautiful Day!

What an incredible morning at Montana Wild. The sun showed up, the birds showed up, and you showed up — visiting, laughing, dancing, and sharing this good day with us.

We are officially sold out, and our hearts are full.

Our Magpie Singers and Dancers brought that strong, steady heartbeat, and the community gathered around it with so much joy. It was a gift to sing for you, dance for you, and spend time together on this land during World Migratory Bird Day.

We are truly lucky to be part of such a generous, supportive community. Thank you for lifting us up today and for helping support the Last Chance Community Pow Wow.

Full bellies, full hearts, full gratitude.

What happened at Missouri Headwaters is more than vandalism, it’s an assault on history and culture. An ancient pictograph that survived centuries of wind, rain, and time was damaged. This wasn’t just paint on rock; it was a sacred story left by the Native peoples, our ancestors, who lived here long before Montana had a name. We owe it to our future generations to protect what little of this heritage remains and to treat these places with the reverence they deserve.

Someone has vandalized an ancient pictograph at Missouri Headwaters State Park, painting over Native American rock art that has existed for hundreds or thousands of years. Full story in the comments.
