Helena Community Gardens

Helena Community Gardens Helena Community Gardens builds gardens, provides the tools and knowledge to grow food, and increases access to healthy and affordable food.

Formerly known as the Growing Community Project, Helena Community Gardens was founded in 2007 through a partnership between WEEL (Working for Equality and Economic Liberation) and AERO (Alternative Energy Resources Organization). In 2011 we changed our name to Helena Community Gardens and established our own nonprofit organization. We are a group of dedicated volunteers managing 9 community gardens in the Helena area.

📣Garden Work Day! Waukesha Gardeners made big progress in June on their multi-year Pathway Project to improve accessibility and pathway maintenance within the garden. 🌱 This phase of the project has been made possible by donations from our SeedMoney Campaign fundraiser in late 2025 and donations from generous community members. 🫶
💚Over 100 volunteer hours over the past three years have been invested! As a result Waukesha Garden has over 400 ft. of new pathway with goals of finishing the remaining 200 ft. this season. 🙌🙌🙌
