You never know what someone may be carrying behind the scenes.

Sometimes, one of the most helpful things we can offer is connection with people who truly understand.

NAMI offers peer support groups for people living with mental health conditions and family support groups for the loved ones walking alongside them. These free groups provide a space to listen, share, and connect with others who have been there. đź’™

Montana, it’s time to walk for mental health. 💙

Join us on Sunday, September 20, for the 2026 Montana NAMIWalk at Memorial Park in Helena.

NAMIWalks brings together families, friends, advocates, and community members from across the state to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and show our support for every Montanan affected by mental illness.

Whether you walk for yourself, someone you love, or simply believe in a future where mental health is treated like health, we’d love to have you there.

With Su***de Prevention Month coming up in September, now is a good time to make sure you know one number: 988.

The 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 for anyone experiencing a mental health or emotional crisis, including thoughts of su***de. You can call or text 988 to connect with a trained crisis counselor for free, confidential support.

You don’t have to wait until a situation feels unbearable to reach out. If you’re struggling, worried about someone you love, or simply need someone to talk to, 988 is there.

💙 Save the number. Share it. Know it’s there when you need it.

1 in 5 is more than a statistic. It’s our friends, family members, coworkers, neighbors, and people in communities across Montana.

Mental illness is common, and no one should feel like they have to navigate it alone.

Whether you’re living with a mental health condition or supporting someone you love, NAMI Montana is here to connect you with support, education, and resources.

Support, hope, and community are here when you need them. Learn more at the link in our bio.

When someone tells you they’re struggling, you don’t need to have the perfect words. Sometimes, the most important thing you can do is listen and let them know they don’t have to carry it alone.

Try starting with:
“I’m glad you told me.”
“I’m here with you.”
“How can I support you right now?”

NAMI support groups are there for both sides of that conversation: people living with mental health conditions and the family members, friends, and loved ones supporting them.

These free groups offer a place to connect with others who understand, share experiences, and find support in your own community.
