Helena Gold Rush Lions Since 1984, We Serve! Helena Gold Rush Lions Club would like to extend an invitation to you to come and see what our Lions Club is all about.

Our International Mission statement is ‘To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding...’
Our club is focused on community service. We take an active role in making our community a better place. Our primary goal is to provide eye glasses to families who do not have the means to provide for themselves. We work clo

sely with local schools and their administration to meet this objective. What cannot be stressed enough is that our local mission does not have to stop at eye glasses. We can achieve these lofty goals by getting together in the community and working with various fund raising organizations to achieve the financial means we need to provide this service. In the end we are looking for you. We need you to join in the fight to help us; to help others. Below is a short excerpt from an individual who wrote an article in the International Lions Magazine on what Lions Club means to him:
…”The only way the world will heal is if we heal it. No one will save us but us…Only we reach for each other one by one and say I see you, I am here for you, I witness you, I give you me. We will win the war by surrendering what is best in us to those who need exactly what we have…Beneath all religions all nationalities, all ethnicities, all polities, all history, there is only us, always children, always struggling to shuck the selfish and sing the generous…The Lions are hammering down the will, every day, every hour, all of the world. Someone ought to pause, here and there, and bow, and say, quietly, while beginning to weep with gratitude for the millions of children you made smile, and say thank you.”
And so we leave you to make the choice that you feel needs to be made. If you have the heart of a volunteer and enjoy meaningful fellowship, food and drink, and taking an active role in improving YOUR community, we would like to extend a heartfelt invitation to come and join us for a meeting, to see what YOUR local Lions Club CAN be all about. Enjoyed having 5 members of the local high school speech and debate teams give a presentation to our club! They have an amazing group of 13 young adults who are headed to nationals this summer! We were able to help support their fundraising efforts to take care of travel costs.

May is Healthy Vision Month, which focuses on raising awareness of eye disease prevention and general eye health. It's a great time to be proactive and schedule your annual checkup!
