Childcare providers do some of the most important work in Montana—supporting children, families, and our entire workforce. Yet too many of them face barriers to staying in the job they love while supporting a family of their own.

The cost of childcare is on the rise, and many Montana families can’t afford to work simply because they can’t afford care for their children. The Best Beginnings Scholarship helps make child care more accessible and supports families through income-based monthly copayments that adjust as earnings increase. Making the Best Beginnings scholarship available to childcare providers will reduce turnover in a critical industry, helping childcare workers, families, and our local economies.

That’s why we’re urging Montana’s state child care leaders to act now. Pass legislation and make investments that expands and strengthens access to the Best Beginnings Scholarship so childcare providers can get the support they need—without delay.

When we invest in childcare providers, we invest in Montana’s future.

LiUNA is fighting back to ensure their members do not lose their voice and power on the jobsite, access to family-wide healthcare, and a pension that will allow them to retire with dignity.
