About the Council
The Montana Council on Developmental Disabilities is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation located at 7 West 6th Avenue, Suite 507 in Helena, MT. The Council is one of the three programs federal law PL106-402, the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act. Enabled in Montana State Government in 1971 and housed there until 2003 when the Council left state government and took the form of a nonprofit corporation. The Council is made up of 28 Governor appointed members and must contain at least 60% consumer participation.
