On May 11, 2026, the Hedgesville Lions Club held their 13th Annual Golf Tournament at the Woods Resort. 113 golfers enjoyed a round of golf in nice weather and a delicious buffet lunch. The event included a Chick-Fil- breakfast sandwich, an array of raffle items and an opportunity to win the 50/50.
Three team prizes were awarded plus closest to the pin on the four par 3 holes and CMA provided a new car should someone have been lucky enough to make a hole-in-one on hole on the designated par three hole. The winning team of John Hammond, Darin Jenkins, Tyler Buhs and Jason Wolf was from CMA.
The success of our tournament allows the Lions Club to continue paying for glasses and eye doctor appointments, buy chicken for men's rescue mission, give scholarships to two Hedgesville High School seniors, help with eye exams at kindergarten registration and Hedgesville Community Church's Loaves and Fishes food bank. In the past we purchased a diabetic dog for a school age child. All of these things are an example of the Lions Club motto “We Serve.”
