It’s time for spring cleaning! The WGC cemetery board members will be meeting at the cemetery on Saturday April 11th at 9 am for Spring flower removal please feel free to join us if you’d like to help. See guidelines below.

Spring Flower Removal Guidelines
Fresh and artificial flower arrangements may be placed on graves at any time. All arrangements must be anchored so as not to interfere with normal mowing and trimming. Any unsightly arrangements are subject to removal without notice.

ONCE PER YEAR in preparation for spring mowing, a Saturday in April is set aside as flower removal day using the following guidelines:
> The flowers on a headstone, in a headstone vase, or on a hook will not be removed as these do not interfere with cemetery mowing or weeding.
> The flowers on graves in an enclosure will not be removed. We discourage enclosures and are not responsible for their maintenance. (New enclosures are not permitted per our guidelines.)
> Old, unsightly flowers on the ground will be removed.
> If the flowers on the ground still look good, we will leave them on the grave and possibly move the arrangement closer to the headstone to allow for easier mowing and weeding.
> If there are containers of flowers on the grave, we will remove old and unsightly flowers, but leave the containers.
Our purpose is not to remove ALL flowers; just those old and unsightly and those that hinder mowing and weeding. We respect how families decorate the graves of their loved ones.
If you would not like flowers removed, please contact us.

Note: Often, the wind blows arrangements off the grave or headstone. If we cannot identify where an arrangement goes, it will be discarded unfortunately. If possible, label the arrangement with your loved one’s name.

Marjorie Utley Coffman, of Hector, Arkansas, was born on November 14, 1932, and passed away on February 3, 2026.
Marjorie was preceded in death by two beloved husbands, Louis Coffman and A.C. Utley; her parents; and her brothers, Jesse Condley, Tommy Condley, and V.O. Condley.

Marjorie and her first husband, Louis Coffman, built their life together through determination and hard work. As a young couple, they traveled to California where they picked fruit, logged timber, and eventually started a Roto-Rooter business. Together they raised a family and shared many years of partnership and perseverance. In the early 1970s, they returned home to Arkansas and settled on a farm in Hector, where they built their home and raised cattle.

Despite the demands of farm life, Marjorie and Louis knew how to enjoy thesimple pleasures. Saturday nights often meant getting “honky tonk ready,” with Marjorie dressing up, Louis shining his Stetson, and the two heading to Western Sizzlin for supper with Veo and Peachie Coffman, followed by a stop at Walmart. Those evenings were filled with laughter, joy, and love.

After Louis’s passing, Marjorie later married A.C. Utley, a kind and loving man who embraced Marjorie’s family as his own. Their quiet marriage reflected Marjorie’s playful spirit and sense of humor — as she would say, “just to give the gossips something to talk about.” Marjorie shared a close and lasting bond with her stepdaughter, Agalia Baker, remaining close throughout her life.

Marjorie was a woman defined by hard work, devotion to family, and joy found in life’s simple moments. She loved sewing, quilting, and flower gardening, and called it her “therapy”.

She is survived by her children, David Coffman, Judy Lewis, and Callie Bartlett; her sister, Betty Chronister; six grandchildren, Jess Coffman, Scott Lewis, Russell Lewis, Kevin Lewis, Tracey Kim, and Nicole Bartlett; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Marjorie’s legacy lives on through the generations she raised, the land she loved, and the laughter and love she shared so freely.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, February 6, 2026 at Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. J.L. Chronister and Rev. Terry Latham will officiate. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Hector, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to Walnut Grove Cemetery, P.O. Box 125, Hector, AR 72843.
