RHAM senior, Pasquale Amodeo, was awarded the Sean Darmody Greene Social Justice Scholarship for the academic year 2025-2026. This scholarship was created to honor Sean’s commitment to community service and to recognize and encourage RHAM students to follow his example of community service and commitment to social justice locally and globally.
Pasquale writes that, “social justice…is the pursuit of equality across a community in both social and economic forms…Understanding that some people face discrimination and challenges that others do not have to worry about is vital to social justice.” While a student at RHAM, Pasquale has spent time volunteering at the Marlborough Food Bank, Richmond Memorial Library, and St John Fisher Catholic Church. Pasquale states, “As long as you can improve at least one person’s life, you’ve made an important difference in the world and have contributed to social justice and change in your community.”
Pasquale plans to pursue his education at Indiana University studying psychology or neuroscience. He states, “I want to be able to help people overcome mental challenges because mental issues impact a large part of the population… I see it as my personal mission to increase awareness on mental issues and improve the conditions of those affected by them. “ We have confidence that his work ahead will indeed change the world for the better. We wish him good luck in his educational pursuits at Indiana University and in all his future endeavors.
