James V. Spignesi Jr. Memorial Fund "It is how he lived that made him a hero." This is how Officer Spignesi lived his own life. REMEMBER 648. Spignesi, Jr.

The scholarship fund strives to reward men and women who have a passion for wildlife, while living their lives with integrity and humility. In 1999, a Scholarship fund was established by a committee of Spignesi's friends, family and co-workers to provide scholarships to:
1) A University of Connecticut upperclassman who aspires to a career in
wildlife management or conservation law enfor

cement.
2) A graduating senior male lacrosse player from Conard High School
which Officer Spignesi attended.
3) A graduating senior from Parish Hill High School located in the town
Officer Spignesi lived in when he was killed. Each year there are two major fundraisers for the James V. Memorial Scholarship Fund: a game dinner & auction in the spring, and a golf tournament in the early fall.
