It is with a heavy heart and with much gratitude that Go! Malawi wishes to recognize a friend and former employee that passed away from a long illness. After paying respects to his family we wish to formally say goodbye and thank him publicly for his service to improving Malawi and being of service to his country. Thank you Eston Ngoza!

After his family, Eston Ngoza had two loves: protecting the forest and improving educational opportunities for children. He was a steward of the environment and worked tirelessly to provide awareness about the need to protect the Ntchisi Rainforest. He spoke at schools, conducted activities, led hundreds of hikes, and planted thousands of trees in the rainforest! Additionally, Eston worked hard on the school committee and throughout the extended community to inspire families and motivate children to attend school and obtain an education. He worked diligently to grow trees, fruits, and nuts on his property and educate others about the benefits of cash crops. He was very strong and incredibly knowledgeable about the forest. He knew the names of every tree and animal in the forest and hiked faster than all our volunteers!

He was a wonderful person, a strong advocate for the children and the trees, always wanting to improve the life of Malawians. He will be missed! Rest in peace Eston Ngoza!

Malaria is a deadly threat in Malawi and the biggest cause of death worldwide. This potential vaccine and new technology brings excellent news! We are on our way to providing African countries, such as Malawi, with preventative measures against this terrible disease! How amazing! The positive impact of future vaccines will keep families intact and parents working and children in homes and school fees paid! Exciting!

Consistently ranked as one of the leading causes of death around the world, malaria doesn’t have an effective vaccine yet. But researchers have invented a promising new blueprint for one — with properties akin to the novel RNA-based vaccine for COVID-19.
