Get ready to shred! On November 2nd from 9-noon, we will be hosting our 10th annual Shred Event for residents of Hebron, Marlborough and Andover in the RHAM HS parking lot.

Each household is permitted up to 5 bags of materials (paper bags preferred) and we ask that you place your bags in the trunk. Paperclips and staples are ok, but no 3-ring binders or other heavy metal components.

And as in years past, we will be collecting non-perishable items for Hebron Interfaith Human Services- Food Pantry to kick start their stock for the holiday season! See you next weekend! ♻️

Today is the day! The Shack is back! We’ll be open Sundays from 10-2 until December in the lower lot of the Hebron Transfer Station & Recycling Center. Please read the guidelines below before bringing items to the Shack. The Shack is run lovingly by volunteers and we request that no large items that are unable to fit in shelves be left in front of the doors. We’re working towards a more sustainable model and would appreciate if you could help us keep the Shack organized when you drop items. Please remember, all items must be in clean, working order. Happy swapping! ♻️

Thank you to everyone who made it out to the Town-wide Roadside Cleanup today! Including AHM, the Trail Rangers, RHAM Environmental Club, Selectman Larson and State Rep Steve Weir. And special thanks to the Department of Public Works for the annual dumpster delivery. In less than 2 hours we picked up almost 450 nips off the roadside and out of our parks 😳

The weather is a bit gloomy but that won’t stop us from celebrating Earth Day! We kick this weekend’s festivities off today with our annual Town-wide Roadside Cleanup at 10 am in the upper RHAM lot. This year we’re partnering with AHM to bring awareness and education surrounding nip pollution on our roads. We’re also working in collaboration with the Hebron Trail Rangers to leave our parks better than we found them! Then, at 12 we’ll be cleaning up last year’s pollinator garden and planting this year's over at Town Hall. And on Sunday, the Shack is back! Drop by and say hello from 10-2. Happy Earth Weekend, Hebron!🌎

'Tis the season for our annual holiday recycling reminder!

Next week, please remember that wrapping paper, tissue paper, ribbons, gift bags and holiday cards go in the TRASH. And as usual, anything styrofoam, packing peanuts, air pockets, plastic wrap, bubble wrap and even those biodegradable packing peanuts all go in the trash as well.

When your aunt gifts you another sweater, your old sweaters and textiles will go in the purple Charities of Hope bins in the lower lot (even if they are a little holey, or dingey, they just need to be washed as those items can be turned into insulation). When the batteries on those new toys wear out, toss them in the bin in Electronics in the lower lot to the left of the Shack. When you're out of leftovers and tired of cooking, pizza boxes and ALL take-out containers go in the trash. When you're taking down the tree, put old string lights that don't work in metal. And when you're ready to take the tree out of the house, compost it in your own yard or pay to have it thrown in debris at the TS. Real trees with flocking (the white spray/process that makes the edges look snowy) can NOT be composted in your yard and must be put into bulky.

If you're purging kid items around the house after the new stuff comes in, check out Lebanon - CT Children’s Clothing Wardrobe. And if you find yourself with some leftover non-perishables after the festivities, please drop them at Hebron Interfaith Human Services- Food Pantry!

Feel free to reach out with any other holiday related items you've been wondering about!

Happy Holidays from the Hebron Green Committee ♻️
