'Tis the season for our annual holiday recycling reminder!
Next week, please remember that wrapping paper, tissue paper, ribbons, gift bags and holiday cards go in the TRASH. And as usual, anything styrofoam, packing peanuts, air pockets, plastic wrap, bubble wrap and even those biodegradable packing peanuts all go in the trash as well.
When your aunt gifts you another sweater, your old sweaters and textiles will go in the purple Charities of Hope bins in the lower lot (even if they are a little holey, or dingey, they just need to be washed as those items can be turned into insulation). When the batteries on those new toys wear out, toss them in the bin in Electronics in the lower lot to the left of the Shack. When you're out of leftovers and tired of cooking, pizza boxes and ALL take-out containers go in the trash. When you're taking down the tree, put old string lights that don't work in metal. And when you're ready to take the tree out of the house, compost it in your own yard or pay to have it thrown in debris at the TS. Real trees with flocking (the white spray/process that makes the edges look snowy) can NOT be composted in your yard and must be put into bulky.
If you're purging kid items around the house after the new stuff comes in, check out Lebanon - CT Children’s Clothing Wardrobe. And if you find yourself with some leftover non-perishables after the festivities, please drop them at Hebron Interfaith Human Services- Food Pantry!
Feel free to reach out with any other holiday related items you've been wondering about!
