Hebron Scout Cabin The Scout Cabin is a place for our local cub scouts and girl scouts to meet.

It is available to rent for Birthday parties, Graduations, Family Reunions, Baby or Bridal Shower or for any reason to just have a party.

The Hebron Scout Cabin would like to thank Arnie Nichols from Affordable Electrical Repair at 707 N. Indiana Avenue in Crown Point for his quality service in volunteering & helping the Scout Cabin with some much needed kitchen electrical updates. He installed new wiring, several additional GFI's along the countertop, ran a new wire for the 220 stove outlet, plus donated a new expanded junction box in the kitchen. This was an extremely generous donation of both his labor and material. Affordable Electrical Repair is located 707 N. Indiana Avenue in Crown Point serving the area since 2010. They offer Power tool sales & repairs , Appliance repairs, generators and home electrical repairs & installations. We were extremely happy with their work and if you need any type of Electrical Repairs, please give them a call at 219-696-7792, Please thank Affordable Electrical Repair and Arnie Nichols for their contribution to updating the Hebron Scout Cabin.
The Hebron Scout Cabin is still in need of donations to replace the main original 60 amp fuse box with a new 100 amp breaker box.

Now is the time to reserve your Graduation Celebration at the Hebron Scout Cabin. We are in the process of updating the kitchen with new Oak Cabinets, new countertop, paneling, flooring, & electrical updates. Plenty of outside area if you want to bring chairs and sit and enjoy Alyea Park. Also keep in mind for Birthday Celebrations, Family Get togethers & other group activities. Call 219-996-6513.

Need some help. If anyone wants some good exercise, the grounds around the Hebron Scout Cabin could use a good raking and clean up. The squirrels had a fun time with all the nuts from the trees, but there is a lot that needs to be removed. SO if anyone wants to volunteer, please bring your rake anytime and get some exercise. The Hebron Scout Cabin received a generous grant donation from Kankakee Valley REMC for new kitchen countertops, new kitchen flooring, new paneling & updating the kitchen electric. Amanda Steeb Director of Marketing & Communications announced the grant approval. Darl Jarnecke presented the check to Julie Carter, cabin caretaker & Deb McKay of Hebron Realty & Insurance. Richard Brewer at DeMotte State Bank also helped in getting the Grant money. Smart Cabinetry of New Paris, Indiana donated all new Oak Kitchen Cabinets. Some of the Hebron Girl Scouts made KV REMC a Thank You sign showing their appreciation. A BIG THANK YOU TO KANKAKEE VALLEY REMC and their Round-Up Program FOR THEIR GENEROUS GRANT DONATION.

The scout cabin wants to thank the Girl Scouts for helping raise money for the cabin. Last week we did a craft day and lastnight we sold smores on the beach at the lofs winterfest.

The Hebron Scout Cabin would like to thank some of the other volunteers that help with the updating. Peg Russel Senholtz volunteered to repaint 8 of the Scout Benches plus washed down all the paneling. Ray Bales has volunteered to rake the yard several times per week because of all the debri from the nut & pine trees. Linda Humphris volunteered to paint the lettering in the Park sign. Marty & Tim McKay volunteered to pour a new concrete pad at the back door of the cabin. Thank all of you for your support.
