Proyecto Heber held its inaugural creative session with stakeholders, community partners, and allies. Facilitated by Roque Barros of the IV Wellness Foundation, we gathered at Salt Cedar BBQ in Heber to brainstorm ideas, share experiences, and strengthen relationships.

We were honored to be joined by Corina Rodriguez from the Seeley Rising Alliance; Lupe Escobedo Valdez, Angelica Escobedo , and Sergio Escobedo from the Heber Senior Lunch Program; Karina Pineda Diaz, her brother Leo Pineda; and Maria Peinado.

A special thank you goes to our dedicated volunteers: Bethamee Garcia, Gilbert Delgado, Luz Delgado, Luis Garcia , Rogelio Roger Vargas, and Kaine Garcia, whose commitment continues to make this work possible.

Our hope is to hold gatherings like this at least once each year. Building stronger communities requires all of us working together, sharing ideas, and investing in one another. We want to help make the entire Imperial Valley a place where families can thrive for generations to come.

Last night, we started with Heber. Tomorrow, we continue building for the whole Imperial Valley. ❤️

Proyecto Heber llevó a cabo su primera sesión creativa con nuestros aliados, colaboradores y líderes comunitarios. Con Roque Barros, de IV Wellness Foundation , como moderador, nos reunimos en Salt Cedar BBQ en Heber para intercambiar ideas, compartir experiencias y fortalecer los lazos que nos unen como comunidad.

Contamos con la participación de Corina Rodríguez, de Seeley Rising Alliance; Lupe Escobedo Valdez, Angélica Escobedo y Sergio Escobedo, del Programa de Almuerzos para Personas Mayores de Heber; Karina Pineda Díaz y su hermano Leo; María Peinado; y, por supuesto, nuestros fieles voluntarios: Bethamee García, Gilbert Delgado, Luz Delgado, Luis García, Rogelio “Roger” Vargas y Kaine García.

Esperamos realizar este encuentro al menos una vez al año, porque sabemos que necesitamos unirnos, escucharnos y trabajar juntos para volver a hacer de todo el Valle Imperial un lugar donde nuestras familias puedan crecer, prosperar y construir su futuro.

Anoche comenzamos con Heber. ¡Y este es solo el comienzo!❤️

Heber Senior lunch club will be hosting a casino day. Enjoy a bus ride to and from Las Viejas Casino/Outlets, all for a $5 fee!
Friday, June 19th. Bus leaves from Heber Community Center at 9am SHARP. Bus will return you to Heber at 4pm.

Everyone is invited!!
Meet-up is at 8:30 am

At the end of every month, our Heber Senior citizen's lunch club celebrates all birthdays for that month. This month was Angelica Valdez, Carmen Ibarra, Yolanda Mejia, and Sra. Veliz.

Proyecto Heber provided a special lunch, and we celebrated 🥳 all our May Birthdays!
