Fiesta Patria at Innercare !!! The Heber Seniors got invited to Innercare's Fiesta Patria. There was dancing, food, CHURROS, and of course, Imperial County Transport Commission provided transportation; the ladies quickly started referring to it as the "Heber Seniors Party Bus"!
We had a blast!!!
Innercare had a live band;Los Lobitos, Chabela's catered the food, and there was raffles, which three of the ladies won! The ladies were introduced to Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez, which the ladies quickly cornered him about a future park in Heber: "We need to have adult exercise equipment in it!" Proud of the ladies for thinking quick about advocating for their needs!

We want to thank Innercare, ICTC, Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez, and all the staff at PACE for taking care of our Heber Senior Lunch Program. 💙

Proyecto Heber held its inaugural creative session with stakeholders, community partners, and allies. Facilitated by Roque Barros of the IV Wellness Foundation, we gathered at Salt Cedar BBQ in Heber to brainstorm ideas, share experiences, and strengthen relationships.

We were honored to be joined by Corina Rodriguez from the Seeley Rising Alliance; Lupe Escobedo Valdez, Angelica Escobedo , and Sergio Escobedo from the Heber Senior Lunch Program; Karina Pineda Diaz, her brother Leo Pineda; and Maria Peinado.

A special thank you goes to our dedicated volunteers: Bethamee Garcia, Gilbert Delgado, Luz Delgado, Luis Garcia , Rogelio Roger Vargas, and Kaine Garcia, whose commitment continues to make this work possible.

Our hope is to hold gatherings like this at least once each year. Building stronger communities requires all of us working together, sharing ideas, and investing in one another. We want to help make the entire Imperial Valley a place where families can thrive for generations to come.

Last night, we started with Heber. Tomorrow, we continue building for the whole Imperial Valley. ❤️
