REMINDER: Update your Workamping resume once you accept a job!

One of our Employer members' frustrations is contacting Workampers who are not actually available even though their resume says they are available.

Please be sure to keep your resume up-to-date! You can use the Situations Wanted section of our Resume Builder to indicate your availability for one or more time frames. Make a Situations Wanted entry inactive if you've accepted a position for the time frame you listed.

Or, toggle to hide your resume from the database if you'd rather not entertain future opportunities.

Edit or create your resume via the Resume Builder tool when logged in at Workamper.com.

Workampers who utilize our Resume Builder can have their resume working for them 24/7/365! Instead of posting to social media and having your resume post buried within a few hours or days, build your resume once and then update it as-needed to keep it in front of an invested employer audience.

How to Do the Math on a Workamping Job

Compensation may include...

- RV site
- Wages or salary
- Utilities (or an allowance of a specific amount)
- Perks (like free laundry, meals, activities, rentals, discounts)
- Bonus
- Stipend

Once you get the compensation and schedule details from the Employer, you can do the math! You'll take the value of the compensation package and divide it by the required work hours/months/season of work.

When making a decision on the opportunity, you should also consider some intangibles like:

- your desire to be at that location
- duties (how easy, moderate, or very demanding?)
- do you believe you will be happy doing the work?
- your gut feelings about the owners/managers/staff

I’m visiting with the founder of Cliff Valley Astronomy and Canada’s only astro-tourism consultant.

Stéphane Picard is helping travelers rediscover something many of us have lost in modern life, which is a true connection to the night sky.

If you’ve ever parked your RV far from city lights and looked up in amazement at the stars overhead, you’re going to love this conversation.

Stéphane explains why dark sky tourism is growing so quickly and how RVers are uniquely positioned to enjoy it.

We also talk about how modern technology has made astronomy far more accessible than it used to be.

You no longer need a massive observatory or a degree in astrophysics to experience the planets, galaxies and nebulae that once seemed out of reach.

Finally, Stéphane shares why New Brunswick is becoming a dream destination for outdoor lovers, nature enthusiasts and travelers looking for unforgettable nighttime experiences.

One thing I found especially interesting was how RVers are perfectly positioned to enjoy this growing trend.

Today, he and his girlfriend, Caryl Kinney, live full-time in a Class C motorhome, Workamping at campgrounds in Texas during the winter and working seasonally at a New York RV dealership during the summer. Workamper for a family-owned RV dealership, working as a service advisor.

Jim Bartleman thought he had life figured out. He was working as a service advisor in the automotive industry, planning for the future and preparing to eventually hit the road in an RV.

But, everything changed in an instant after a devastating accident left him in a medically-induced coma and forced him to relearn how to walk, talk, read and swallow.

Instead of giving up, Jim used that life-changing experience as motivation to completely redesign his life around what mattered most to him.

Today, he and his girlfriend, Caryl Kinney, live fulltime in a Class C motorhome, Workamping at campgrounds in Texas during the winter and working seasonally at a New York RV dealership during the summer.

In this episode, Jim shares how he turned a frightening setback into a new beginning.

Electric Bikes for RVers:
A Smart Upgrade or an Unnecessary Expense?

Electric bicycles have quickly become one of the most popular additions to the RV lifestyle. For many Workampers, they are no longer viewed as recreational toys, but practical tools that simplify daily life on the road.

Once an RV is leveled, connected and settled into a campsite, most people do not want to break camp simply to grab groceries, visit the campground office or explore a nearby town. E-bikes offer a convenient solution while also helping Workampers stay active and mobile.

Of course, e-bikes are not without downsides. They require secure storage, regular charging and a larger upfront investment than traditional bicycles. For RVers considering the purchase, the question becomes whether the convenience and flexibility justify the added cost.
