What a fun day of STEAM in Roosevelt! 🎨🔬✨

Nearly 1,000 students from Duchesne School District gathered for a day full of hands-on learning, creativity, experimenting, and a LOT of colorful messes!

Our BTS Arts team led students through quick, 20-minute sessions where science and art came together in some pretty amazing ways. Students explored:

🎨 Centrifugal force through spin art
🥛 Surface tension through milk painting
💧 Solubility and pigment interactions through watercolor experiments
🌱 Branching patterns and diffusion through dendrite painting

We love learning that lets students try things, get curious, make a mess, and figure things out along the way.

A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make this such a fun and memorable day for students. This is STEAM at its best! 💙

Today was all about elementary math! ➗✨

NUES hosted an Elementary Math Coaching Institute featuring our math facilitator, Shannon Olsen, with teachers and coaches from across the NUES region coming together to learn, share ideas, and lend their expertise.

So much good conversation around building stronger mathematical thinking in our elementary classrooms. We’re grateful for educators who keep learning and growing together!

At NUES, we’re excited to support our region’s implementation of SB 241 through our Science of Reading ParaEducator Training! 📚🔬

We’ve already had the opportunity to connect with paraeducators in Heber and Coalville, and we’re not done yet! Upcoming training opportunities are planned in Vernal, Duchesne, and Heber.

Paraeducators play an important role in supporting student learning, and these trainings are designed to build foundational knowledge of the Science of Reading and strengthen the support provided to students across our region.
