An employee with a good job eats at local restaurants, gets the car serviced, hires local professionals and shops in our stores.
That's why economic development matters to small businesses, too.
Our cities and county have spent years attracting employers in high-wage industries and supporting local businesses as they grow and scale.
That could be on the chopping block if Amendment 3 passes.
We don't want Amendment 3 to make that work harder.

When companies look at Seminole County, they're looking at public safety, roads and infrastructure, the workforce they can attract and whether their employees want to live here.
That's a big part of why our communities are so desirable.
We've built a strong base of technology, simulation, advanced manufacturing, financial services and other high-wage employers. Those companies also create customers for thousands of local businesses.
The risk to our quality of life is too great if Amendment 3 passes. That's why the Chamber opposes this effort.

Why does the Seminole County Chamber oppose Amendment 3?

We spent months looking at what it could mean for businesses and for the community we've built.
Our members want lower taxes and more affordable housing. We do too.
But we also have serious concerns about public safety, economic development, small businesses and our quality of life.

We explain those concerns in our latest op-ed.
Read it here: https://www.orlandosentinel.com/2026/10/07/guest-commentary-amendment-3-passage-threatens-seminole-communities/?fbclid=IwY2xjawU0v-NleHRuA2FlbQIxMABwZG9mAWJyaWQRMXpkem9Ec21EYTR6WW1OU1JzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeqldr995faVb74yHB-6m0hgFqKlyik0SWKTXBXC-MznaJV3v--2Vdj-VE5S8_aem_Zfwhzv-nnK-epyaoW9wi-Q&utm_campaign=mrf-facebook-orlandosentinel&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&mrfcid=202610076ac3914178bb54145cf609cf
