**Burglary Suspects Arrested **

On 05/09/2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Heath Department of Public Safety officers were dispatched to the Promontory neighborhood in reference to a burglary in progress at an occupied residence. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle leaving the area and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The operator of the vehicle fled from officers at a high rate of speed, and a pursuit ensued.

Heath officers pursued the vehicle for approximately 60 miles until a Van Police Department officer was able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device. The vehicle crashed into a ditch on IH-20 near Tyler, Texas. The occupants then fled on foot. Officers utilized K9s and drones to search the area, which ultimately led to the apprehension of all three suspects.

All suspects were transported to the Rockwall County Detention Center. The suspects reside in the State of Georgia. It is unknown at this time whether these suspects are linked to the burglaries that occurred within our community in late 2025. Detectives will continue to investigate the case, and no further information will be released at this time.

Thank you to the initial responding Heath officers, the Fate Police Department, Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office, and the several state and local law enforcement agencies that assisted with this incident. A huge thank you as well to our dispatchers at the Rockwall Police Department, who did a phenomenal job coordinating the response.

While these suspects are in custody, please continue to report any suspicious activity, and always lock your doors and set your alarms.

Dear Heath residents,

As the weather warms up, more people are out enjoying our community, and we are seeing an increase in electric bicycle use, especially among younger riders.

This is a good opportunity for a quick safety reminder. Please take a moment to review the information below to help keep everyone safe and informed.

Please remember that to be considered a legal e-bike, the bicycle must have fully operable pedals. Devices without pedals, such as certain electric dirt bikes, are not permitted on streets, sidewalks, or city trails.

Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about safe and appropriate places to ride and the importance of following these guidelines. Your cooperation helps keep our community safe, enjoyable, and accessible for everyone.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to safety.
