Neighbor To Neighbor Neighbor to Neighbor is a non-profit organization with the sole purpose of helping our neighbors with food and other life sustaining supplies when needs arise.

Neighbor to Neighbor is a nonprofit organization providing for families in need within the Denali Borough, based in Healy, Alaska, by organizing food drives and collections, organizing the Angel Trees along with local businesses, and financial donations. The focus of our efforts occurs during the holiday season to provide food boxes and gifts to all the families within the Denali Borough in need of assistance. We believe that no one should be hungry and no child should be without a gift on Christmas. On average, Neighbor to Neighbor provides food boxes to more than 50 families and gifts to more than 60 children every year.

📣 We received an emergency request for help from one of our Denali Borough neighbors. Ana and Billy Owens live off Parks Highway at mile 271. They are a family of 9 and they are down to last can of fuel. They have money for fuel but all their cars are inoperable at the moment. Billy needs a ride from Mile 271 to Healy then back to 271. 🫶 Thank you Neighbors for participating in the Three Bears "Shop with a Purpose" event held last December 12th. 10% of all local grocery sales and 5% of fuel sales were donated to our food bank. Three Bears Alaska gave us a check for $3,869.64!

Starting TODAY~ December 8th…from Monday until Friday (by the end of school~ 1:30 pm)… Tri-Valley School in Healy is collecting canned food for Neighbor to Neighbor. Students collected 1350 pounds of food last year. They're trying to beat that number!

If they get 1400 pounds, Mrs. Nicole has agreed to let us throw a pie at her; if they get to 1450 pounds, Mrs. Sarah has agreed to let us throw a pie at her, and if they get to 1500 pounds, Mr. G has agreed to let us throw a pie at him. If they get to 2500 pounds, they get to shave Mr. G’s beard!!

Students can bring canned food (check the list of what can be collected) to a box outside their classroom or MS/HS crew homeroom.

The food will be weighed on Friday right after school. Celebrations if students meet their goals will happen the week of December 15th. Thank you for supporting the local Neighbor to Neighbor Food Bank!
