Postponed due to the concerns over public gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic. We'll keep you posted about the rescheduling o this event and all future Third Sunday Salons as we move forward in this difficult and unusual time.

Poet Donna Emerson reads at the Third Sunday Salon. She's just retired from teaching at Santa Rosa Jr. College and her clinical social work practice. Her recent publications include Calyx, Sanskrit, the Denver Quarterly, The Paterson Literary Review, Weber: the Contemporary West, and the London Magazine. She has been nominated for two Pushcarts, “Best of the Net” and received two Allen Ginsberg awards (2015, 2017). Her four chapbooks include This Water, 2007, Body Rhymes, 2009, Wild Mercy, 2011, and Following Hay, 2013. Her first full-length poetry collection, The Place of Our Meeting was published in January 2018 and nominated for a California Book Award. Donna’s second, Beside the Well, has just been released by Cherry Grove Collections. Donna will read all new poems from Beside the Well.

Third Sunday Salon on July 21st will feature the one and only Vilma Ginzberg as she reads from her new work, Octogenarian on Fire. Vilma was a guiding force on the Healdsburg Literary Guild for over a decade and has been a prolific poet in the past couple decades.

Join us for a great afternoon of poetry, Open Mic, and literary discussion.

In observance of Father's Day, the HLG is not holding the Third Sunday Salon in June. We'll resume In July with Vilma Ginzberg and have Arte Whyte in August. Literary Laureate Jennifer Lynn ALvarez will also be featured this fall along with Richard Perce. The Guild is also sponsoring a new publication and has writer's guidelines that are attached here as a jpeg.
