Throwback Thursday 🚒

Today we share some history and give you a glimpse into the archives. the photograph below was taken from the minute book from the first ever Hazlet Fire Company Meeting. This piece of history was written March 14, 1910. Where residence got together and formulated a plan to organize the Hazlet fire company #1, to serve and offer fire protection to the Hazlet Township. The evening of March 21, 1910 The fire company was established becoming the first Fire company in Hazlet.

The 1910 hand-drawn ladder cart was one of the earliest pieces of equipment used by volunteer firefighters in the area. These units were pulled manually to emergencies by the crew and carried wooden ground ladders, pike poles, and axes before motorized fire trucks became standard. The fire company still has the cart.Since then it has been refurbished and rebuilt with new wood from years of damage,but it still maintains many original parts from 1910.

Hazlet Fire Company’s original building still stands today at 648 Holmdel Rd. Since then the fire company has grown to a new building down the road . Hazlet 39.1 continues the tradition of proudly serving Hazlet residence and surround communities for over 116 years.

🇻🇪 Venezuela Relief Donation Drive 🇻🇪

As many of you know, I am originally from Venezuela. After the recent earthquakes, I want to do whatever I can from here in New Jersey to support the families and communities affected.
We are collecting essential supplies to bring to a shipping/relief center supporting upcoming shipments to Venezuela.

I will be collecting donations over the next few days. The first drop-off will be delivered tomorrow night, and we will continue collecting for the next shipment for the following weekend.

We are accepting NEW, SEALED, and UNEXPIRED items only:
✅ First-aid supplies�✅ Gauze, bandages, and medical tape�✅ Nitrile gloves and masks�✅ Antiseptic wipes and saline wound wash�✅ OTC / over-the-counter medicines, new, sealed, and unexpired only: acetaminophen/Tylenol, ibuprofen, allergy medicine, cough/cold medicine, and antibiotic ointment�✅ Baby formula, diapers, and baby wipes�✅ Feminine hygiene products�✅ Toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and personal hygiene items�✅ Non-perishable foods: canned goods, rice, pasta, oats, lentils, beans, protein bars, and powdered milk�✅ Sturdy boxes and packing tape
Please do NOT donate clothing, shoes, water, opened items, expired items, prescription medications, homemade food, or glass containers.

As we celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary this year, we honor and thank the brave men and women who have fought, sacrificed, and defended our nation’s freedom throughout the past 250 years. We also extend our deepest gratitude to the firefighters, EMTs, police officers, and first responders who continue to answer the call, protect our communities, and serve this great country with courage and dedication every day.
