I am fighting for :
fiscally responsible spending
Providing the best tools and equipment for our volunteers
A detailed vision plan for future capital spending
Recruitment and Retention improvements
Better Community involvement and outreach.

Not the results I had hoped for. Congrats to the winners. Stay safe !

Good afternoon,

As I complete my first term on the Board of Fire Commissioners, I’m proud to reflect on the progress we’ve made together. When I first ran for this position, I promised to keep a close eye on spending while ensuring that our volunteer firefighters have the equipment, training, and resources they need to serve our community safely and effectively.

I bring over 25 years of public service experience to this role. Since 1998, I’ve served as member of the First Aid Squad — including four years as Assistant Captain — and as a firefighter, where I also had the honor of serving as Fire Company President. I’m currently in my 22nd year in law enforcement, with the past seven years as a supervisor. This background has given me a deep understanding of public safety, leadership, and fiscal responsibility.

Over the past three years as Commissioner, I’ve worked to have the tough but necessary conversations about curbing spending and prioritizing our budget. I have never been one to simply rubber-stamp decisions or make purchases — every dollar we spend comes from our taxpayers, and it’s our duty to manage those funds responsibly.

I’m proud to say that our three volunteer fire companies and their leadership teams have embraced this approach. Together, we’ve made the essential investments in apparatus and equipment while keeping the taxpayers — all of us — in mind. I would be honored to serve another 3-year term for the volunteers and the taxpayers.

Some good planning by previous members of the Board of Fire Commissioners allowed us to obtain a fully custom fire engine at significant savings. This engine was purchased with capital reserves. With moving forward we also secured the materials used prior to new emissions requirements, and other industry related increases.
This engine is half-way done already.
Keep an eye out for this in Hazlet in early January.

I pushed hard to update some of the current fleet. The high cost of new apparatus along with very long build times has lead to some agencies holding off or not replacing at all.
After some long discussions and some negotiations, I can proudly say we were able to secure a stock Ladder Tower quint at significant savings to the taxpayer.
This truck will replace a 1988 Tower ladder (75 ft bucket with water tank and no pump).
This truck will be a new 100 foot Ladder/Tower/Quint (100 ft, with tank, and pump).
This is already in production and we saved the taxpayers over $700k (from what other manufacturer’s quotes were coming in at).
Best part: it’s already in production (vs a 3-4 year wait) Keep an eye out in early 2026 for this new vehicle.

In 2024, I was able to team up with the Raritan High School Television Production students to produce a video to promote the fire district.
I thank the students, teachers, and volunteer fire company members for their assistance.
