The Mercer County Peace Officers Association raffle drawing was held July 1. Congratulations to Jason Mohl of Beulah on winning the Statewide Whitetail Buck Tag. Congrats also to Terry Dschaak and Terry Ochsner on each winning a $250 cash prize. Thank you to all who bought tickets to support the MCPOA for the Cops and Kids Fishing Derby each year. We couldn't do it without the continued support of the community. We appreciate you.

It was a great day to be at Harmony Lake for the Cops and Kids Fishing Derby! Every kid got a brand new fishing pole and tackle box. They caught fish and turtles, consumed lots of hot dogs, checked out the Sheriff's Department boats, did fish stamping in the Knife River Indian Village Tent, and pet the K9s. Several even walked away with a brand new bike! This was the 17th year of Cops and Kids Fishing, and we are so appreciative of our sponsors for helping with this event every year. Thank you to our sponsors, and thank you to all who brought their kids. We hope to see you again next year.

Cops and Kids Fishing Derby is this Saturday at Harmony Lake. Come for fishing, fun, food, and prizes. Bait will be furnished, and every kid gets a small tackle box at registration. You do not need to be preregistered, so just come and enjoy the day. Event is from 10:00-2:00, with prize drawing at noon. This is North Dakota's Free Fishing Weekend, so adults can fish with their kids even if they don't have a license.
