It is still here! Picture sent in by Holly Holsman of a Cormorant that was following their boat around the lake this morning. The bird has been here for a while now.
If someone is feeding the bird, please don't! It is bad for them to get dependant upon people for a food source, it could be unhealthy for them depending on the food, and they will eat a lot of the fish out of the lake, diminishing the fish population.

Just in case you missed it, tonight was a gorgeous evening, just great to be outdoors! Besides the perfect temperature and still air there was a full moon and a bonus 96% partial eclipse of the moon. The added bonus was the three deer that came up to the deck to dine on freshly fallen acorns. God, I love living in the Northwoods! (My camera does not do the experience justice!)

Things seen on a cruise around the lake, one not so common critter too! Cruising around the lake last night we were able to see a bit of wildlife, including a bird I had never observed on Kaubashine before. A Cormorant! A neat looking, diving bird.

UPDATE: Maple is back home, reunited with her owner!🥳

Lost dog from Upper Kaubashine Lake area.

Hi! I am trying to help locate a dog that got loose this evening over on the upper kaubershine, her name is Maple and she is a young brown lab mix. Very friendly with other people and pets. She’s a fast runner and is not familiar with the area. She is microchipped and wearing a harness but not a collar. I’m reaching out on the chance that someone might see her and report to this page. Found inner tube float!

Hi...Someone's inner tube floated into the weeds at our shoreline. Tube is gray and black..Ozark Trails. I tied it up to our removable dock if someone is missing it. White boathouse down in Hilltop bay area.
