24 years ago today Ofc. Jessica Nagle Wilson was killed in the line of duty but not before incapacitating the suspect which prevented further death and injuries. We are wearing mourning bands today in memory of her sacrifice in protecting Hazel Park. Jessica is missed and our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who love and miss her every day. đź’™

Mike's a great guy and we've got his back. Let's keep good leaders in their spots and get him the votes he needs to keep fighting for us!

Honored to have the endorsement and support of the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters!

Standing up for our community means delivering real results for the people who keep us safe. That’s why I secured $2.6 million in last year's budget for a new fire truck for the Hazel Park Fire Department and introduced bipartisan legislation to ensure our firefighters, and all first responders get the mental health and PTSD support they deserve.

I’m committed to fighting for our frontline heroes and working families every single day in Lansing.

Help me keep fighting for you! Please consider donating today at votemcfall.com.

Huge thank you to. Amelia Street Pizza Co in Hazel Park! We had been hearing all the hype about this place, and after finally trying it ourselves, we can honestly say it's 100% deserved.

The pizza was awesome, and Matt and the entire crew were some of the coolest, most down-to-earth people you'll meet.

Thank you so much for the pizzas, it was truly appreciated. We'll definitely be back, and if you haven't checked them out yet, you're missing out!

Wow, what a storm! Your Hazel Park firefighters certainly had their hands full over the last 24 hours, responding to a staggering 24 calls for service.
Among those incidents, we battled two simultaneous house fires on Elza, stopped a third, managed several medical calls, and handled multiple reports of downed power lines across the city.
Unfortunately, one of the homes on fire was energized by a downed primary wire. This created extremely hazardous conditions and made firefighting efforts incredibly difficult, resulting in major damage to the structure. However, there is a silver lining. We are thankful to report that we successfully rescued the family pet and were able to retrieve and salvage some of the homeowners' personal belongings.
Thanks to aggressive operations, crews successfully stopped the fire from spreading to the neighboring home directly to the east. For the second home on fire just to the west, firefighters' quick actions kept fire damage to a minimum.
A multiple house fire operation like we had takes a village, and we want to extend a massive thank you to the Birmingham Firefighters Association Local 911. Those guys were awesome. Having their 4-man crew working alongside our 6 members made a massive difference. Without them, things could have been a lot worse.
We also want to recognize Chief Walker, who provided invaluable assistance on the scene and helped manage multiple calls before and after the fires. Thank you, Chief, for being there for your guys.
Hazel Park Police Department also did a great job. They were lending a hand with whatever was needed. Their dispatchers also had their hands full and did great.
Last but certainly not least, a huge shoutout to CERT member and Hazel Park resident Nicole White. Nicole went above and beyond, assisting with downed power lines, dispatching, and critical documentation. She was beyond helpful, and we truly appreciate her dedication.
Please stay safe out there, everyone. We will share update posts or links to GoFundMe pages as soon as that information becomes available to help support the fire victims.

Today's extrication training focused on extraction, but also stabilizing cars and buses using Paratech struts and other tools. While cars are something we work with regularly, buses and other large vehicles are a different challenge.

Hearing the instructors say, "You should be proud of the guys—they know their stuff, and they know their tools," meant a lot.

Nearly 100-degree heat, unfamiliar scenarios, and a crew that showed up ready to learn and perform. That's what professionalism looks like.Tomorrow the rest of the guys will be training on an even hotter day.

Proud of this crew. Great work, fellas. Stay safe, keep training and keep getting better.

Today our crews conducted realistic training evolutions focused on forcible entry, hose advancement, and search and rescue operations. These hands-on drills help our firefighters build confidence and maintain the skills needed during real emergencies. A few pictures show the use of our TIC (Thermal Imaging Camera), which assists firefighters in locating victims, identifying heat sources, and navigating in low-visibility conditions. Training never stops — we are always preparing to better serve our community.

A huge thank you to Kilburn's Equipment Rental 248-547-8327 for providing us with the use of a lift to help our firefighters paint the exterior of the Hazel Park Fire Department station.

Community partnerships like this make a big difference and help us continue taking pride in our station and the service we provide to our residents. We appreciate your support and generosity in helping us keep our firehouse looking its best.

Thank you for being a great community partner!
