Hazard High School Sophomore Terry Davidson finished his flag project to install flagpoles and the 5 flags of the military that represented the WW2 and Vietnam Memorial. The military memorial is located beside City Hall in Hazard, Kentucky. He worked with the City Council and VFW/Auxiliary members to get the project funded and in the final steps to completion.

WSGS History: 70 years ago today, August 22, 1952 - The Oliver Hazard Perry VFW Post 7387 opened in Walkertown. Nearly every Hazard Civic Night in the 1950s and 1960s was held here. The long list of visitors include Adolph Rupp, Bert Combs, Happy Chandler, Wendell Ford, Louie Nunn, and Mary Breckinridge. Share your VFW Club memories with us.

We would like to thank all the auxiliaries in the State of Kentucky that donated to our local schools for teacher and student supplies lost during this catastrophic flood. Our district distributed these funds raised in the amount of $794.00 (each) to Breathitt, Perry, Knott, Letcher, and Jenkins Ind. school districts.
