The Salvation Army Hayward, together with our Advisory Council, was proud to participate in yesterday’s Downtown Hayward Street Fair. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to connect directly with community members, build new relationships, and share information about the programs, services, and activities we offer to support individuals and families in Hayward.

We are grateful to everyone who stopped by our booth, learned more about our work, and expressed interest in volunteering, partnering, or getting involved. Community events like the Downtown Hayward Street Fair strengthen local connections and help ensure that people know where to turn for support, resources, fellowship, and opportunities to serve., and residents in a community-centered setting.

Thank you to our Advisory Council and all who helped make the day meaningful. We look forward to continuing to serve and support the Hayward community.

Today, we had the opportunity to distribute box fans to members of our community here in Hayward, and it was truly a joy to see the smiles and gratitude from those who received them.

These simple but essential items will bring much-needed comfort during the warm days ahead. This effort would not have been possible without the generosity of Ace Hardware in Livermore, who organized a fan drive to collect these donations.

Today, we were truly blessed to welcome families, both parents and children, to our service. It was a joy to gather together in fellowship and encouragement. Following the service, we had the opportunity to bless the children with backpacks filled with school supplies as they prepare for the new school year. Today, we’re sharing donuts with our community partners, not just as a sweet treat, but as a thoughtful expression of appreciation for the support they provide throughout the year.

For the Salvation Army, this day also serves as a reminder that small moments can carry meaningful purpose.
