Peter Sategna Educational Foundation Peter Sategna was born in 1915 to Italian emigrant parents. After marriage, Peter received a gift from his wife's uncle.

We are a non-profit organization based out of Alameda County, CA who provides money to organizations to support scholarships to our local youth and military veterans. After high school, Peter went to work with his father in the coal mines in Colorado; which was back breaking and very dangerous. This gift was money and it was enough to get him out of the mines and into a trade where he became a but

cher. After WWII, Peter, a combat veteran, used the GI bill to purchase a home in Albany, CA where he lived and worked as a butcher for Safeway until his retirement. Peter worked hard all his life saving and investing and never forgot the opportunity he was given. Near the end of his life, he asked family members to help him start a foundation that would give others the same kind of opportunity to finish their education or learn a trade.

This Holiday Season, we need your help. The Peter Sategna Education Foundation is asking your help in funding two student emergency funds. One for Veterans one for general students. Your donations are 100% deductible, and 100% of every dollar donated goes to students

The emergency funds are set up at a college and used over the Holiday Season to help students in financial need. Maybe it's $400.00 for a textbook; a single working mother needs to start the spring semester. Maybe a Veteran needs $700.00 to stay in school until his or her government funding gets approved.

Yes, these are small amounts, but for some, it makes the difference between staying in school or dropping out for a semester.
