Celebrating our Coffee House performers!! We heard classical solos for violin and viola, two original compositions from our students, solos on electric guitar, a string quartet and finished with a rousing open jam session for all. Our audience was treated to a wonderful evening thanks to all of our parents, students, teachers and board members who made this event a success!

NorthWoods Strings enjoyed making music with the band Annie and the Oakleys last Saturday night. The warm welcome from the band made us feel right at home!

It was a delight seeing our students and families alike dancing and enjoying the music. Saturday's hoedown was a great event that combined youth and adult musicians, members of the community and NorthWoods Strings students, and connected this wonderful music with the next generation. Thanks to everyone who attended this event and supported our players!

NorthWoods Strings invites the community to a free concert celebrating 20 years of making beautiful music at the Hayward Center for Individualized Learning 15574 WI-77 at 1:00 pm on Saturday April 27th. NorthWooods Strings will be playing with the band Annie and the Oakleys this Saturday night at a Hoedown at the Stone Lake Lions' Hall. The Hoedown begins at 7:00 with dance lessons offered at 6:45. Hoedown music is fun for the whole family!

Coffee House- Thursday, February 15th at 6pm at HACIL:
NorthWoods Strings students can treat their friends and family to an evening of wonderful music! This event is free for the community, and audience members are encouraged to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item to donate to our local food shelf. Currently, they are in specific need of donations of single toothbrushes, deodorant for women and men, cake mix and frosting and cooking oil. Any and all donations are welcome! Guests will enjoy light refreshments as our students have the opportunity to provide a variety of background music including solos and small groups with their friends. All ages and abilities are welcome! Students, this is a great opportunity to play a piece you have written yourself or to get a group of your family or friends to play pieces together. We will conclude with a Farmer’s Market style open jam session. We hope to see you there!

NorthWoods Strings has been invited again this year to play at Fiddle Fest! Come and enjoy our amazing and talented local musicians at the Sawmill in Seeley starting at 2pm!!

NorthWoods Strings had a wonderful time playing at the Hoedown in Stone Lake. Huge thanks to Annie and Oakleys and caller Allison Jonjak for inviting our students to perform with them. Everyone had a great time!

We wanted to extend our heartfelt appreciation to NorthWoods Strings students, board, our folk music teacher, Beth Allison and the Hayward Farmers' Market for allowing us to host our open jam session last Monday. The rain held off and we enjoyed playing some really great tunes! (In the lower left corner, you can spot a new violin, the body of which was handmade by one of our students. Great job, Cade! We're impressed by your work and dedication.)
