Encampment is one of the best leadership experiences for cadets. Arriving as students and leaving as graduates with strong bonds, better personal leadership, and motivation for the future, Encampment graduates are one step closer to becoming a Cadet Officer.

👉 Nobody should be left out of the Encampment experience.

Apply for CEAP (Cadet Encampment Assistance Program) before May 1st for financial assistance.

The California Wing Encampment runs from June 21-29, with Pre-Encampment June 18-20 at Camp Roberts.

The night concluded with an engaging activity where cadets practiced respectful disagreement through debatable topic questions.

During Flight Time Activities (FTA):

Alpha Flight: Practiced Opening Ceremonies and provided constructive feedback on drill movements.

Bravo Flight: Reviewed CAPR 39-1 standards for uniforms and grooming.

Charlie Flight: Discussed the concept of the Ethical Trap.

Delta Flight: Worked on basic in-place drill movements.

Last week on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Firebirds kicked off the meeting with stretches/warmup in a Circle Formation before diving into a fun and competitive game of Dodgeball! Afterward, cadets changed into their ABUs before transitioning to Flight Time Activity (FTA).

During FTA, Alpha Flight assessed each other on their knowledge of CAPR 60-33 while Delta Flight finished off with their wingman course conducted by Lt. Robin Yang. Cadets then settled into their flights with their new chain of command. Bravo, Charlie, and Delta cadet staff introduced themselves, outlined expectations, and directed an icebreaker activity and drill evaluations.

Our cadets had an incredible time at the Ultimate Bear & Wings Challenge this past weekend! We got to send three teams this year and you can check out all the adventures we had as you swipe though some of the special moments captured.

The Purple Team placed 3rd in volleyball, Orange Team battled fiercely for the Spirit Stick, Yellow Team showed up and OUT for the talent show, and ALL teams tackled water, ground, aerospace, emergency services, and leadership challenges to rack up points.

🌟 A huge thank you to the senior members, parents, and staff for getting our teams to the event and cheering us on every step of the way. We couldn't have done it without you!

🚀 Celebrating Girls in Aviation Day! 🛫

Today, we honor the trailblazing women who have soared to new heights in aviation and aerospace!

🌟

From pilots to engineers, astronauts to air traffic controllers, women are helping to shape the future of flight. ✈️

At SQ18, we are committed to inspiring the next generation of young women to dream big and reach for the stars. 🌠 Through hands-on learning, STEM exploration, and leadership opportunities, we empower girls to take flight—both in the skies and beyond.

🔧👩‍🔬 Whether it’s with drones, launching rockets, or navigating the cockpit in orientation flights, we believe every girl has the potential to lead and innovate in aerospace!

Let’s continue to break barriers and support girls in aviation as they explore the limitless possibilities above the clouds. 💫
