More than 50 years after it first opened, Del Nido Apartments is ready for its next chapter. 🙌

We recently celebrated the grand re-opening of Del Nido Apartments, a fully rehabilitated affordable housing community in northern Santa Rosa. Originally built in 1970, the 206-home community has served low-income seniors and families for decades and recently underwent an extensive 18-month renovation.

The rehabilitation preserved 206 affordable homes across the property's 9.4-acre campus, including 58 studios and 148 one-bedroom apartments for households earning up to 60% of Sonoma County's area median income.

In a region where affordable housing remains critically needed, preserving existing affordable homes is just as important as building new ones. Del Nido's rehabilitation represents a meaningful investment in the residents, families, and community that call it home.

🏘️ What does a welcoming community look like through the eyes of our young residents?

Every April, our Expanded Learning Program celebrates Fair Housing Month through the Annual Fair Housing Contest. This year, our talented and thoughtful youth participants brought the theme "Everyone is Welcome in My Community" to life through creative and inspiring dioramas.

Through this project, students learned about the importance of fair housing and creating communities where everyone belongs.

🙌 A huge thank you to our Resident Services Coordinators for teaching these important lessons and encouraging participation. We received so many incredible entries that selecting our Final 3 winners was no easy task!

Affordable Housing Month and NeighborWorks Weeks are all about celebrating the communities, partnerships, and people that make this work possible—and we were proud to do exactly that at the grand opening of Timber Senior Housing in Newark. 💚

Timber marks Eden Housing’s first community in Newark and brings 79 new affordable homes for seniors to a growing, walkable neighborhood.

Designed to support independent living and connection, the community features welcoming gathering spaces, a computer learning center, exercise room, courtyard, and on-site resident services.

We were excited to celebrate this milestone alongside our partners, supporters, and our new residents. Thank you to everyone who helped bring Timber Senior Housing to life and create more affordable housing opportunities for seniors in Newark.

🥂 After nearly two decades in the making, we were proud to celebrate the kickoff of the Downtown Livermore Apartments project alongside our partners and supporters.

This celebration marked the start of excavation activities and recognized the award of more than $6 million in Measure W funding from Alameda County.

Once completed, Downtown Livermore Apartments will bring 130 affordable homes for low-income families to the heart of downtown Livermore, helping more families live and work in the community they call home.

This milestone reflects years of vision, persistence, and partnership. We are grateful to the many partners and supporters who helped make this moment possible 👏👏👏

From May 23–June 7, Eden Housing joins NeighborWorks America and network organizations across the country in celebrating the power of community development, partnership, and investment in housing. Together, we’re creating opportunity, strengthening neighborhoods, and building a better future for all.

This year, we’re especially excited to celebrate the grand re-opening of Del Nido Apartments during NeighborWorks Week. Originally built in 1970, Del Nido provides 206 affordable homes for families in Santa Rosa. The community recently underwent a comprehensive renovation, ensuring residents continue to have a safe and welcoming place to call home.
