According to the California Department of Public Health Four or more weeks after a COVID-19 diagnosis, some individuals experience returning illness, recurring health problems, or a range of new symptoms. This is referred to as long COVID or post-COVID. Individuals with this condition are sometimes called “long-haulers.” The best way to prevent long COVID is by taking precautions to prevent COVID-19 illness. This includes getting the covid-19 vaccine and booster, and wearing a mask that has both good fit and good filtration, like an N95, KF94, or KN95. California Department of Public Health, in partnership with Resolve to Save Lives, an initiative of the global public health organization Vital Strategies, is promoting the Voices of Long COVID campaign to heighten public awareness of long COVID in order to help prevent it.
