Recently a group of citizens sent out the attached post card.
The facts are as follows;
Yes, there will be a special meeting on October 10th @ 6:00 pm at the Town of Hayward, 15460W State Road 77E, and yes, we need every eligible Town of Hayward voter to attend.
1. Our public servants are working out of an old building that is way too small and not compliant with any ADA codes. The current building is also falling apart folks. Our public servants need a new facility to work out of and have needed it for years. THERE NEVER WAS A $15,000,000 PROJECT....... The proposed construction cost for the entire project is currently $6,116,420 if construction is started in 2025. The Town is also actively exploring available grants to offset as must of the cost as possible. The person(s) responsible for circulating the petition(s) knew this information and yet lied to people during their presentation of the petition(s).
2. Increasing the size of the Town Board from 3 to 5 would allow the Town Board to work together easier and get things accomplished and would not cost very much money at all. After all, the Town of Hayward is rapidly growing and is the largest Township in the County.
3. Combining the Clerk and Treasurer positions is an excellent idea and actually saves the Town money and forces the Town to conduct audits. Prior to the combination, the Town employed a full-time Clerk, a part-time Treasurer and two part-time clerk assistants. Since the combining, the Town only employs a full-time Clerk/Treasurer and a part-time Deputy Clerk/Treasurer. FOLKS, THE TOWN IS SAVING MONEY, YET THE PERSON(S) CIRCULATING THE PETITION(S) HAVE BEEN UNTRUTHFUL AGAIN!
Please come to the meeting on October 10th @ 6:00pm and support all of your public servants and learn the truth by hearing the facts for yourself!
