This week, May 6–12, we honor National Nurses Week and celebrate the incredible nurses who are at the heart of our work.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our nurses have shown up as steady, compassionate, and essential frontline leaders—caring for our communities through uncertainty, loss, and recovery. Their dedication has gone far beyond clinical care. They have been advocates, educators, and trusted sources of comfort for the families we serve.

At La Familia, our nurses embody what it means to lead with both skill and heart—delivering culturally responsive care that meets people where they are and supports long-term healing and stability.

Today and every day, we thank our nurses for their resilience, their commitment, and the countless ways they continue to uplift our community.

50 years ago today, on May 5, La Familia was founded with a vision rooted in community, healing, and opportunity.

Today, we celebrate not just a milestone, but the generations of families, partners, and supporters who have made this work possible. From our earliest days to now, our commitment has remained the same: to walk alongside our communities with culturally responsive care and support that strengthens lives and neighborhoods.

Honoring our past, innovating toward our future.

Last night, April 23, we celebrated 50 years of service to our community with our community. Since 1975, La Familia has grown into what it is today, from a size of less than 15 to now closing in on 300 full time employees.

We have grown and stayed true to our values with YOUR support and advocacy.

We are honored to have the privilege to continue to serve our vibrant communities.

We are so proud of our El Chante residential substance use recovery team! 🫶🏽😌

We here honored to have many community partners from fellow organizations, Alameda County, ,and the Board of Supervisors, join us for a special ribbon cutting ceremony that celebrated some incredible new renovations and expansions to our site. 🏠

As we mentioned in our opening remarks this facility and work being accomplished by our residents goes beyond just themselves, but trickles into their families, relationships, and our broader communties. 🌺
