Due to the weather, we have cancelled today's cleanup activities. Please join us tomorrow, Sunday, September 22nd at 9 am.

09/20/2024

Come join us this Saturday and Sunday, September 21st and 22nd from 9 am to 4 pm for the first clean-up days at the Grindstone Lake Nature Reserve. Stop out anytime!

We have a dumpster and will be cleaning out the Shed and garage as well as clearing some of the downed trees and branches.

Be sure to wear long sleeves and work gloves, and don't forget insect repellent. There is no electricity on the property, so a headlamp would also be helpful for work in the Shed. Please bring a chain saw, brush cutters or brooms, if you are able.

We will have water and snacks! Hope to see you there!

Cindy Parker, President, Grindstone Lake Foundation

Grindstone Lake Association President, Donna Carlson and Grindstone Lake Foundation President, Cindy Parker discussed the Foundation's efforts to Save the Bog at the Wisconsin Lakes and Rivers Convention on Friday, April 8th.

11/25/2021

Dear Grindstone Lake friends and neighbors,

The Grindstone Lake Foundation's effort to purchase the old cranberry bog has reached another milestone. We have now raised a total of over $670,000 in donations, pledges, and grants -- an increase of $200,000 since mid-July. We are so thankful to all who have contributed.

With the matching grant still available until December 31, 2021, we are literally $100,000 away from achieving our goal of clear title to the bog property. Acquiring the bog to create recreational trails and restore wetlands will help protect the clear waters of Grindstone Lake now and into the future.

Over 100 of your friends and neighbors have already donated – 2/3 of them donating $500 or more. We hope you can help, and we appreciate any level of donation.

PLEASE help us protect the lake for your children, grandchildren, and guests to come. Thank you so much for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Cindy Parker, President, Grindstone Lake Foundation, Inc.
