20 years. Two generations. One unforgettable camp. 🏕️

Joe was part of Camp William B. Snyder's very first summer staff in 2006. This summer, he returned with his son as a Specialty Week Scout BSA volunteer.

From helping build camp traditions to passing on Scouting skills to the next generation, Joe's story shows the lasting impact of Scouting.

Here's to 20 summers of adventure, leadership, and memories that last a lifetime. ⚜️

What started as a woodworking project became a lesson in conservation, research, and community stewardship for Scouts at Michael’s Woodshop at Camp William B. Snyder.

As part of the Woodwork Merit Badge program, Scout James designed and built a bat box after learning about bat habitats, local conservation practices, and the challenges bats face in the wild.

“I am happy to provide a home for 3-4 bats,” said James.

From researching proper placement to understanding how predators impact bat populations, James discovered that woodworking is about building with purpose.

Projects like bat houses and bluebird nesting boxes help Scouts develop hands-on skills while learning about environmental responsibility, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Through the guidance of Michael’s Woodshop’s dedicated volunteer team, youth gain experiences that extend far beyond the workshop.

👏 Congratulations to James on completing his project and helping create a safer habitat for local wildlife!

Today, Camp William B. Snyder's Specialty Week Camp had its annual assessment and is now fully accredited!

Congratulations to the Camp Snyder team!

The National Camp Accreditation Program is Scouting America's system for ensuring high-quality, safe, and sustainable camp experiences. To achieve official accreditation, our camp had to successfully complete five aspects: national camp standards review, Application and Authorization to Operate, Camp Strategic Analysis, Continuous Camp Improvement, and an annual assessment.

Pictured here with the Zone Assessment Team Lead, JD Urbach, are Camp Director Cynthia Griffiths and NCAC Deputy Scout Executive Dwayne Jones.
