From Sea to Shore: Which one will you fancy? In this exciting class, you will choose! Learn a simple approach to layering color for rich texture and depth as you paint. No staying inside the lines for us, as we will finish our project by working outside them - using an art principle that will make your art POP! Sip, socialize, and get creative at The Winery at Sunshine Ridge! In this relaxed art class, local artist Kerry Molina will guide you through the steps to create a colorful, fun artwork. No art experience required. This is all about enjoying the process, and having fun with art in a casual, welcoming atmosphere.

Class Spotlight: Accordion Book and Hammered Flower Prints

Hammered flower art, or tataki-zomé, is a sustainable, creative technique that involves pounding fresh flowers and leaves onto paper with a mallet/hammer to transfer their natural pigments producing eco-friendly prints. Refined details will be added to each print using an ultra-fine black ink pen. Participants will create 2 hammered flower prints and an accordion book to store their prints in along with additional papers to create future prints with found flowers. A glass of wine is included in the cost of the class.

Scanning the QR code next to each art piece to listen to music is an incredible experience. To also know each musical piece was inspired by the artwork makes it even more special. The Crossroads Arts Alliance is a non-profit organization committed to supporting the arts in Prince William County. We are excited to announce a special opportunity for creative and talented high school students like you!

This year we will offer four scholarships to support our communities’ young artists. Each scholarship is designed to celebrate your dedication and potential. The first two scholarships are general in nature and may be awarded for students in music, dance, theater, visual arts or another creative medium. The Bolinger award is specific for a student working in three-dimensional art. The Burns award is specific for a graduating senior planning to study visual arts in college.

Our four scholarships are;

General Crossroads Arts Alliance Scholarships
Two $500 Awards

Camille and Paul Bolinger Scholarship
One $750 Award

V.T. Burns Visual Arts Award
One $500 Award for a graduating senior majoring in the visual arts in College

NOTIFICATION OF AWARD:
Successful candidates will be informed by June 5th and will be invited to a Scholarship Awards ceremony on July 9, 2026 at 6:30 pm.
