What a season for the Hayfield Vikings softball team 💙💛

The Vikings battled until the very last pitch Thursday night, falling 7-6 in a heartbreaking walk-off playoff game against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown in the bottom of the 9th.

Hayfield showed incredible fight all night, building a 5-0 lead and reclaiming the lead in the top of the 9th after an RBI single from Kenna Rutledge.

Kenna Rutledge led the offense with 3 hits, while Ella Bamlet added 2. Jenna Christopherson drove in 2 runs, and the defense played a clean game without committing a single error. June Schmeling anchored the defense with her solid stretches at 1st.

This one hurts, but what a season these girls put together. The future remains bright for Hayfield softball. Viking pride always 💙💛🥎

SECTION PLAYOFF WIN! The Vikings advance as they scoot past Kenyon-Wanamingo in a thriller 7-6 victory.

The bottom of the lineup came through in a huge way tonight as Hallie Masching, Adrian Dahle, and Jordyn Knudson combined for 4 hits and 4 RBIs. Knudson was clutch all game long, going 3-for-3 at the plate including the game-winning RBI single in the top of the 7th!

The Vikings jumped out early with a big first inning and battled through a tough fourth before responding when it mattered most. Masching added 2 RBIs, and the team showed patience at the plate with 6 walks.

Ella Bamlet went the distance in the circle to earn the playoff win, striking out 7 over 7 innings!

Hayfield moves on and hits the road as they face #1 seed Houston. Double elimination starts tomorrow. Vikings will be guaranteed a game on Thursday in Austin!

The Vikings exploded with nine runs in the third inning and never looked back in a dominant 13-1 win over Triton on Wednesday!

June Schmeling launched a 3-run homer, while Ella Bamlet and Ashtyn Rouhoff each drove in two runs during the huge inning. Bamlet had a good night in the circle striking out 9 over 5 innings while allowing just one run.

Hayfield finished with 13 hits on the night, all 9 players collected at least one hit! Defensively, Hayfield played a clean game with no errors.

The Vikings will finish their regular season tomorrow as they head to Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton. First pitch @4:30

The Hayfield Vikings battled back in a big way Tuesday night, rallying from a 5-1 deficit to defeat Lyle/Pacelli 12-5!

The Vikings exploded for 7 runs in the third inning to completely swing the momentum. Big hits from Jenna Christopherson, Kalei Tank, and Hallie Masching fueled the comeback, while aggressive base running kept the pressure on all game long.

June Schmeling was dominant in relief, shutting down Lyle/Pacelli over five innings while striking out 11 and allowing just one hit!

The Vikings finished with 10 hits on the night, led by Ashtyn Rouhoff who went 3-for-4 at the plate. Bamlet, Masching, and Christopherson each drove in two runs in the win.

Next up: a road matchup against Triton on Wednesday in Dodge Center first pitch @3:30

Strong hitting and a big night from Ella Bamlet wasn’t enough as the Hayfield Vikings fell 10-5 to WEM on Monday.

Bamlet led the Vikings at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, double, and single while driving in two runs. Kenna Rutledge also had a strong game with two hits, including an RBI double as Hayfield jumped out to an early 4-2 lead.

The Vikings finished with 9 hits on the night and turned a double play defensively. WEM capitalized on Hayfield errors.

Hayfield is back in action Tuesday @ Lyle/Pacelli.

🔥 VIKINGS WIN! 🔥

The Hayfield Varsity Vikings took down Blooming Prairie 10-5 Thursday night behind a big performance at the plate from Kenna Rutledge!

Rutledge went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, while Ella Bamlet and Jenna Christopherson also collected three hits each as the Vikings piled up 11 hits as a team.
