Back to School Night will be a little different from the Meet & Greet. After your child has had a few days in the classroom, families will have the opportunity to learn more about the school day, hear about classroom expectations and routines that have been introduced during the first week, and ask teachers any questions that they may have after the first few days of school.

Our Hayden Canyon Charter Middle School students recently completed an unforgettable learning experience at Glacier National Park!

After researching Idaho’s regions and creating persuasive proposals for Idaho’s first National Park, students explored a real national park firsthand. They visited Glacier’s Native Plant Nursery, learned about conservation efforts, and even planted seeds that will help restore native habitats throughout the park.

This fieldwork brought classroom learning to life and gave students a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship, conservation, and what it takes to protect our natural treasures for future generations.

Supplies purchased online will be delivered directly to the school in late August and will be waiting for your student in their classroom on the first day of school. It's one less thing to worry about as you get ready for a great new school year!

We were graced by some of the best field experts and guest speakers this year! We are bursting at the seams to share with you!

Up first: A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Parent Crew and ICCU for helping bring guest speakers
Clark and Karrie Roberts of the non-profit organization, Ultimate Vision to our school! They also
brought along some puppies in training from the Spokane Puppy Club, an organization that
helps raise puppies to be trained as Guide Dogs!

They shared a powerful message with our students about overcoming adversity and making a meaningful impact through kindness.

The theme, “Learn to Be a Trailblazer of Kindness,” truly resonates with our school community and our CREW framework.
Inspired by their visit, our students created a “Trail of Kindness” throughout
HCC—spreading positivity and making a difference each day.

Our 5th grade class has been working incredibly hard on their i-Ready growth, and we decided to celebrate their effort in a fun (and very visible!) way. For every 2 points of growth students earned, they got to choose a temporary tattoo for their teacher to wear.

As you may notice, their teachers are now proudly covered in tattoos thanks to all of their hard work, perseverance, and academic growth! The students have been SO excited watching their progress pay off, and this was such a fun way to celebrate their achievements together.

We are incredibly proud of the growth they’ve shown and the determination they’ve put into reaching their goals. Thank you for supporting your students throughout the year — and for helping us survive our new tattoo-covered look!
