The Westchester County Police Benevolent Association is extremely proud of Officer Brett Schlosser of the Westchester County Police Department for his heroic actions during the April 16, 2026 residential fire at 27 Old Shop Road.
While on patrol, Officer Schlosser spotted a large plume of smoke near John Jay High School, responded immediately, and learned that two people might be trapped inside the burning home. He attempted entry but wisely held back amid heavy smoke and flames to avoid further tragedy. When Lewisboro officers were injured in a flashover, he quickly assisted one to safety and then used his volunteer firefighter skills to support South Salem FD and EMS in suppressing the fire and rescuing victims.
Officer Schlosser’s composure, judgment, and selflessness went far beyond the call of duty. We are incredibly proud of him and all our dedicated members who serve with such honor every day.
