Union Strong. Community Strong. 🤝💪

We were proud to join the Brewster National Night Out alongside New York State Laborers' Tri-Funds to support our community and help local families get ready for the new school year. Together, we donated 200 back-to-school backpacks to local children, helping make sure students head back to the classroom prepared and ready to succeed. 🎒📚

National Night Out is a great reminder that when we come together—as unions, community organizations, first responders, and neighbors—we can make a real difference in the communities we call home.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success, and to all those who continue to give back to our community.

💪 Another Week of Training. Another Step Toward Excellence.

This past Saturday, our members wrapped up a week of ACI Flatwork Finisher training and testing, putting their skills, knowledge, and experience to the test.

We’re proud of everyone who took the time to sharpen their craft and work toward earning their ACI Flatwork Finisher certification. Training like this is what sets our members apart—continuing education, higher standards, and a commitment to doing the job right.

Congratulations to all of our members who put in the hard work this week!

Local 60 members attended the Yorktown Town Board Meeting to show support and comment on the public hearing to consider amending Chapter 78 of the Code of the Town of Yorktown entitled “Procurement for Goods and Services” to add Apprenticeship Training Standards on town projects.
Town Council Members were told that an apprenticeship with the trades is far more than job training. It’s a pathway to the middle class. Apprentices earn a paycheck while they learn, graduate without crushing student debt, and receive world-class instruction from experienced tradespeople.
These programs also strengthen our local economy. Contractors gain a highly skilled workforce, projects are completed safely and efficiently, and taxpayers benefit from quality craftsmanship that stands the test of time.
Thank you to all those who came out to show support, and to the Town Board for voting on and passing these standards!
