❌ NOT THAT:
- Using marketing imagery that trivializes violence against women or treats abuse dynamics as punchlines
- Staying silent when brands normalize harmful behavior
- Dismissing misogynistic tropes as “just a joke”
✅ THIS:
- Demanding accountability from the brands and media we consume
- Using your platform to speak up, educate, and intervene
- Centering survivor safety, dignity, and real-world impact

Marketing doesn’t exist in a vacuum. When media minimizes abusive dynamics, it silences survivors and reinforces dangerous norms. Over the past year alone, Hope’s Door has served DOUBLE the number of individuals seeking safety from abuse, and real allyship means refusing to let harmful narratives slide.
Rewind the tape. Demand better. Choose accountability every single time. 💜

Today is National Financial Awareness Day, a day to reflect on financial habits, build stability, and take control of our financial futures. 💰✨

For many, financial literacy is about wealth-building. But for survivors of intimate partner violence, financial independence is about safety and freedom. Financial control is one of the most common tactics used to trap individuals in abusive relationships, making equal access to financial knowledge and resources essential.

Building small, consistent habits can strengthen your personal independence. Swipe through to learn simple financial practices, explore empowerment resources, and understand how financial autonomy protects safety. ➡️

If you or someone you know is experiencing financial control or relationship abuse, Hope’s Door is here to help you navigate safety planning and community resources.

DV FUNDING CONCERNS: New York domestic violence agencies are now sounding the alarm that state funding isn’t keeping pace with rising cases. One local agency I spoke with says it served 51% more victims last year than the year before, but its tentative state funding award increased less than 1%.

Today, July 30, marks World Day Against Trafficking in Persons: a UN observance dedicated to raising awareness, educating our communities, and honoring the resilience of survivors worldwide. 🌐💜

Human trafficking is often misunderstood as physical abduction, but the reality is deeply tied to psychological manipulation and coercive control. In fact, intimate partner violence and human trafficking frequently intersect, with abusive dynamics serving as an entry point for exploitation.

Swipe through to learn how intimate partner violence and human trafficking overlap and how systems must evolve to protect survivors. ➡️

While Hope’s Door does not offer direct anti-trafficking counseling, our 24/7 hotline conducts initial screening for trafficking indicators and directly connects survivors with trusted regional partner agencies for specialized support. Every person deserves safety, dignity, and autonomy over their own life.
