A non-profit farmer's market, The Market opens the first Thursday in June and runs each Thursday into October, weather permitting.

Opening the first Thursday after the 4th of July, & every Thursday until mid-October, local farmers bring their produce & local vendors bring their wares to sell to the public from 5pm - 7pm at Veteran’s Park in Hawarden. Manager - Karen Longhorn (712)551-2018

The Market will have its meeting for the 2026 farmer's market season on Friday, April 24th at 5pm at the Hawarden Public Library. Please use the North door, the meeting room is the first room on the right. :)

All market vendors within a 25-mile radius of Hawarden are welcome. We encourage vendors from out-of-town to join us at The Market, as it brings more local choices to one location. This helps your business grow as well as the growth of our local area, not just our small towns. People love to shop local. The Market wants to give them as many choices as possible :)

Topics of discussion will be rules and general market information.

We are saddened by the loss of one of our vendors, Ron Muth, who passed away October 5th, 2021. Ron was from Ireton, and each week for a score of years, he would load a wide array of produce from his farm, The Veggie Patch, and bring them to market here in Hawarden.

His experience, his humor, his advice, and his friendship will be sorely missed ... thank you for being a part of our lives.
