LONG (I KNOW) but such an IMPORTANT message!!! ❤️ check out the cbs link below
On Tuesday, we co-hosted a Cinco de Mayo–themed Mother’s Day event at Ronald McDonald House, and it was truly something special. We were so honored to partner with Restore Salon Services (who does absolutely amazing work and has a similar passion and mission as ours) to provide moms with a much-needed spa day experience.
Together, we offered hair styling, manicures, makeup consultations and applications, a spa refreshment bar, a photo booth, and giveaways. The Catering Station generously donated lunch, and we added some sweet treats as well.
We transformed the space into a vibrant Cinco de Mayo themed “spa,” hoping to give these moms the feeling that they had stepped outside the walls of the hospital and into a new space. Thanks to our incredible donors, every mom who attended received a gift bag. Please know—that your support helps us to continue showing up for these families in a meaningful way and I want to share that with you now, because your support is not just helping us host events… it’s creating real impact.
Many of these women arrived understandably nervous to be away from their children, some expressing feelings of guilt or fear. Several shared that before their child became ill, they used to take time for themselves—but that had since fallen away.
What happened next was nothing short of powerful.
As they left, these moms were just as beautiful as when they arrived—but something deeper had shifted. They walked out with renewed confidence, a calm presence, and a visible glow from within. They began connecting with one another, socializing, and capturing moments together—taking pictures and videos with new friends they made among fellow Ronald McDonald House parents.
There was laughter. There were smiles. There was joy.
Our goal is to continue creating moments of comfort, connection, and normalcy through events and activities all year round.
I want to extend heartfelt thanks to so many who made this event possible:
Richard Cornish, founder of Restore Salon Services and the entire team of talented stylists and manicurists.
Ruthie's Eyes Beauty, Skin Care & Wellness for donating time, services, products, 10 raffle gift bags, and additional lip glosses for every mom
Kendra Scott for a beautiful raffle necklace
gorjana for raffle gift certificates
Craig Stevens for donating a large collection of spa products which were raffled off
All of our generous donors who contributed to the gift bags
Our amazing volunteer who helped create about 100 handmade Mexican tissue paper flowers (so much work—and so worth it!)
And again, The Catering Station who did not hesitate to provide a spread that perfectly complemented our theme (and it was delicious)!
Lastly, a huge thank you to Ronald McDonald House for trusting in us. Your team is incredible, and it’s clear how deeply every staff member cares for the families.
Stay tuned—we have exciting plans ahead, including a library and retreat space for parents, and something special in the works to support dads this Father’s Day.
From the bottom of my heart—thank you. 💛
Mothers of children staying at the Ronald McDonald House were treated to a complimentary spa day and lunch as Mother's Day approaches this weekend.
