Getting together with family for the holidays can be wonderful. It can also be a time when intense feelings arise. If discussions become challenging or critical, it's important to practice good communication.

Foster an attitude of respect in the family. If the stress of dealing with mental illness is contributing to conflict, remember: everyone needs to try their best to care for one another.

Hopefully, the more informed our therapists/clinicians/teachers/coaches, etc. are, the kids who currently go "under-the radar" can get the support, validation, and resources they SO desperately need...
