Next week, we'll be open Monday through Friday during School Vacation Week with plenty of free activities and workshops! πŸŽ¨πŸŽ­πŸ“š (All are welcome, all ages. You don't have to be a kid on vacation or a parent to come and take part!)

Our activities next week will celebrate Black History Month! Come take part in creative and educational opportunities to learn about great Black historical figures and about the origins of Black History Month.

We are thrilled to welcome ZNT Arts, North Shore Juneteenth Association, Inc., and Afrobeats Dance Boston as featured presenters during next week's festivities. ❀️

Local Black History

Sidney Mason, the first black man to serve in the Haverhill Fire and Police Departments. He became a hero helping to fight a fire at City Hall. He was born a slave on a plantation in Sussex County, VA. He came to Bradford in 1871. After he was made a citizen, he was elected constable several times. He later organized a meeting at a barn for blacks to worship. It later became Calvary Baptist Church. He died in 1911. (pic)
