Yea i’m a sucker for the dogs everyone likes. Labs, Goldie’s, Bernie’s, GSDs

The reality is those dogs are rarely ever looked over in shelters if they ever end up there to start with . Easy to place, look good and great fits

It’s a different story for ones that look like they spent two tours in ‘Nam

They rarely get a second chance

But here’s the thing. They will love you just as unconditionally, be as loyal and bc they have a sixth sense that they aren’t making it on the cover of a Doghouse mag they are people pleasers

Don’t overlook the quirky, skinny, awkward and yes…I’ll say - not as photogenic dogs.

U won’t regret it.

So lots of times I show off the really cute cuddly dogs that everyone wants.

I admit I’m a sucker for a Labrador , a golden, a Bernese.

Let’s be real. They take a great pic and are the easiest ones to place in a home.

But what I’ve learned.

It’s the overlooked ones. The skinny, small and well.. ugly dogs

that will always be the most grateful you rescued them.

They will be loyal, and love ya just bc u didn’t walk by their cage.

So do urself a favor and take a chance on those that look
like they spent two tours in ‘Nam.

U won’t regret it

A couple weeks ago we got contacted by Lois and her dog Rusty. Rusty used to go sailing with her late husband and she wanted to see if she knew someone she could pay to take Rusty out on his boat.

Step in Captain Robert Schmidt in Rehoboth. He wouldn’t take any payment and took both Rusty and Lois out for the day.

Lois wants to pay it forward. If you know of a dog who needs a special day she wants to sponsor it. So DM me and we will make it happen.

thank you Captain Bob and Lois.

Reposting 👍👍This beauty here from Brandywine Valley SPCA

Asmara. Found as a stray originally she was probably used to breed.

🫂When I say all she wants is cuddles I mean it. The absolute sweetest dog.

She is good with kids and other dogs but any questions about her full status can be answered by Brandywine Valley SPCA.

💪 to Max and his human Dan in Malvern. Sometimes when I take out a pittie/bully many people stay away and won’t go near.

Totally understand it bc it’s always unpredictable no matter if the dog is a golden. But with this breed it’s pretty much set in to stay away. and I’m not debating that it is without reason. But of course a lot of that has to do with owners and how they are raised.

Anyway. Ollie here just wanted someone to play with and no one let their dog come near. But along came Dan and Max and it changed the whole day for Ollie. So thank you whoever you are.

I’m planning on trying to learn more about pitties/bulldog breeds and DuroBullz was cool enough to agree to talk with me about so will be back with more info in a few weeks.

Milo had his day out with us in February when this little guy decided to pop into the frame.

(Poor fella was hungry and cold. But it has a happy ending. Colin, the volunteer who had Milo out decided to rescue him and now he’s part of his family)

Milo is 13 years old and blind but loves the ocean and his elderly owner can’t drive him there anymore so we were able to arrange a regular schedule of getting him there every few weeks thanks to Colin Sweeting (name fits)
