Haven FFA Chapter

The week started off at State CDEs in Manhattan where this great group competed in the Ag Sales CDE. Everyone had to complete a mock sale of an agricultural product and the team was tasked with marketing beef tallow. Two competed for the very first time in this event and they all did an outstanding job! Evan walked away placing 9th and earning a state medal! Congrats to this team for putting in the hard work, looking forward to most of them returning next year for another competition!

Haven FFA is gearing up for our annual FFA Banquet. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments for this school year and installing next year's leaders as our Chapter Officers. Please see the invite for more information.

Last month we invited Haven Grade School to our annual Farm-to-Fork day! They learned about where their food comes from and how to be mindful of farmers and other producers when shopping. We want to thank everyone involved with making this event successful especially the PHMS Bee Club, the Haven Food Services, and Inman Voag!

Great week in Indy for National FFA Convention! Members were able to talk to colleges and career representatives to help determine a path for after high school. They conquered an escape room by diffusing the bomb in time to save the city! Attended sessions with amazing keynote speakers. Dr. Grandin highlighted different learning styles and how important it is to keep ag and hands on classes in the school. Haven was recognized for their 3 Star accomplishment for the National Chapter Application. Haven joined with Inman FFA to play some great round at TopGolf and to top it all off, watched the Wildcats get the win on the Wildcat Network! Looking forward to seeing how members use what they heard and learned to continue pushing Haven FFA further!

Walking across the stage at National FFA Convention to celebrate the success of Haven FFA has been a highlight of this trip! Great job to the members that put in the work for this award. Haven was awarded the 3 Star category which is the highest ranking that could be received on their National Chapter Application (the application highlights nine activities the chapter hosts during the year). Representing Haven, Kansas well in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Amazing accomplishment being recognized as a 3 Star chapter at National FFA Convention today!

Congratulations to 3 Star and 2 Star chapters from the state of Kansas! These chapters worked hard on their national chapter applications, and showed the impact to their communities.

See a need, take action. Haven FFA jumped into action putting together a food packing event to send meals to those impacted by the hurricanes. The entire high school stepped up to help, together we packed almost 30,000 meals to send to the East Coast. Living out the “Living to Serve” line of the FFA motto.

The BBQ has been moved to the ag room/shop. Officers are at the front door and side door by the main parking lot to help guide everyone if needed! Or the door to the ag shop is propped open. Come on in! Games are setup and food is cooking!

Another great day for Haven FFA! Eighth graders traveled to McPherson for the Canton-Galva Eagle Classic Livestock Contest and came away with 3rd place! These middle schoolers definitely came to compete and did an amazing job representing Haven.
