⚠️Burn Ban Expired⚠️

The Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners has extended the Burn Ban Notice.

Due to current dry weather conditions and an increased risk of wildfire, the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), in coordination with local public safety officials, has extended the countywide burn ban for the next seven (7) days. This burn ban remains in effect from April 23, 2026 through April 30, 2026, unless extended or lifted earlier based on weather conditions.

During this time, all outdoor burning is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to:
🔥 Yard debris burning
🔥 Campfires
🔥 Bonfires
🔥 Agricultural burns without proper authorization

The purpose of this temporary burn ban is to protect lives, property, and natural resources by reducing the risk of uncontrolled fires during dry conditions.

Residents are urged to:
🔥 Avoid any activities that could create sparks or open flames
🔥 Properly dispose of ci******es and flammable materials
🔥 Report any signs of fire immediately by calling 911

Failure to comply with the burn ban may result in fines or other penalties as enforced by local and state regulations.

Members of Greenshade-Dogtown were able to assist Havana/Coonbottom/Quincy stations respond to a fire call at a mobile-home in the Havana area.

While the home was a total loss, we’re thankful nobody was injured and many hands made light work as the fire was kept contained.

📣📣 Announcement! 📣 📣

We are excited to share we were able to purchase a new-to-us wildland fire engine and that it also came with a lot of extra gear our station greatly needed. All of that extra gear is due to two other departments coming together to see what they could spare to help us get on our feet here, both Sugar Loaf Fire Department & Four Mile Fire Protection District. John Wi******er and Caroline Wockner, we cannot thank you enough for going out of your way to have your community help ours. Both of your departments truly went above and beyond and our station/community are so grateful - thank you!

We are also extremely appreciative of the Greenshade-Dogtown/Gadsden-County community support that led to getting this truck here - big thanks! We also must express our gratitude for the local support of St. Johns VFD for loaning us a truck and helping with some training recently, for Havana & Coonbottom VFD’s constant help and any other station that has always had our areas back when the calls roll in. With some new volunteers and new equipment we hope to soon be relieving Havana VFD and all the other stations that have been stepping-in/stepping-up for so long to help serve our area.
